Northmen's Saga

A world not so different from our own but where magic holds sway.  The Northlands are divided into five kingdoms, ruled by a council of five kings.  And the council is ruled by the High King of the Northlands.  The High King: Warrior, General, Diplomat... and a berserker.  One lost temper away from madness and blood shed, the High King's have ruled through fear as often as wisdom.  No one challenges a berserker, except another one.

Their nearest neighbors live in fear of their raids. The Wild Isles are a favored target as their women are highly prized as slaves.  Assuming she can be tamed...

The civilized countries of the inner sea prefer to pretend they don't exist and if they do, pose no threat.  After all, they're stinking, stupid, barbarians huddled in skin tents.  They couldn't be more wrong.

Authors note: the cultures found in these sagas are based on, but not intended to be, accurate representations of historical civilizations.  The resemblance of the Northmen to Vikings is obvious but with my own creative twists.  I also borrowed from the classical Greco/Roman world as well as ancient Persia.  These elements are blended into a world wholly my own.  Brannan
